Benefits

What is the benefit of ACCET accreditation?

ACCET accreditation provides tangible advantages for your certificate, your career, and the quality of your training.

Earn Continuing Education Units (CEUs)

Students who complete the TEFL/TESOL certification course with OnTESOL earn Continuing Education Units (CEUs) with their OnTESOL certificate. CEUs can be used by K-12 teachers to maintain their teaching license and ESL teachers to meet U.S. employer requirements.

Guaranteed Quality Standards

ACCET accreditation means OnTESOL meets rigorous quality benchmarks across 9 standards — covering educational objectives, curriculum, student services, faculty qualifications, and continuous improvement. This ensures your training meets or exceeds the standards of traditional in-class programs.

International Recognition

ACCET is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education, which gives OnTESOL certificates credibility with employers worldwide. Why ACCET

Why OnTESOL chose ACCET accreditation

ACCET accreditation supports OnTESOL with raising our standards of training, including the development of innovative features and services.

Innovation Through Accreditation

As a result of the rigorous accreditation stage lasting 18+ months, OnTESOL developed new processes and services that have transformed our e-learning institution. We started in 2020 by implementing a new LMS to modernize our courses, help us with data analytics about student progress, and reach our students to participate in surveys that guide continuous educational reviews and course improvements.

Industry-First Live Features

The new technologies and processes we implemented to meet ACCET accreditation standards resulted in industry-first innovative live features such as the 10-hour Lesson Planning Workshop (2022). These live components set OnTESOL apart from foundational TEFL courses that rely solely on self-study.

Ongoing Commitment to Quality

On August 31, 2023, OnTESOL received its initial 3-year accreditation until August 31, 2026. Throughout this period, OnTESOL remains highly committed to monitor, review, and improve upon the processes and services as part of our long-term strategy. ACCET offers initial accreditation for 1-year, 3-year, and 5-year periods that include an ongoing process for the organization to monitor standards prior to renewal.
