Which TESOL Course is Right for Me?

The 120-hour Advanced TESOL Certificate course is perfect for people who want to take advanced training in an online format. This online course offers the same level of training as a CELTA or Trinity CertTESOL course. It meets the requirements for international teaching jobs and offers comprehensive training in areas of grammar, phonology, teaching methods, and lesson planning (3 lab assignments). The 120-hour course is recommended for general English teaching positions in Canada and internationally, including English immersion teachers, entry-level ESL teachers going abroad, K-12 teachers*, Business English teachers*, and online ESL teachers*.  The online 120-hour TESOL course leads to TESL Canada Standard 1 accreditation on completion of the separate 20-hour TESL Canada-approved Practicum.

The 250-hour TESOL Diploma course goes more in-depth on the grammar, phonology, and methodology topics. This online course provides a greater understanding of the impact of lesson planning on curriculum development (7 lab assignments).  The 250-hour course is recommended for IELTS teachers*, Academic Coordinators, ESL College teachers, and high-paying positions where a minimum of 250 hours of training is preferred. Many people who completed this course have pursued international opportunities in school management, academia, and publishing. The online 250-hour TESOL course leads to TESL Canada Standard 2 accreditation on completion of the separate 50-hour TESL Canada-approved Practicum.
