ACCET (U.S.) Institutional Accreditation: E-Learning Avocational

The first Canadian TESOL/TEFL/TESL course provider to become accredited in the United States 

OnTESOL is accredited by ACCET as an e-learning avocational institution. ACCET is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as a reliable authority on educational quality to support post-secondary educational providers.  ACCET accreditation standards guide OnTESOL to develop new processes that enhance the quality the TESOL / TEFL certification courses we offer in the United States and internationally. TESL CANADA AND TESL ONTARIO REQUIREMENTS:

120-hour Advanced TESOL Certificate

Completion of this program leads to the following certifications:

  1. Upon successful completion of the Advanced 120-hour TESOL Certificate program, you will receive the 120-hour Advanced TESOL Certificate awarded by Coventry House International-OnTESOL.
  2. You will also be eligible for TESL Canada Professional Standard 1 certification on completion of a separate 20-hour Practicum, university degree, and English Language Proficiency requirements.

168-hour Hybrid TEFL Certificate

Completion of this program leads to the following certifications:

  1. Upon successful completion of the 168-hour Hybrid TEFL Certificate program, you will receive two certificates awarded by Coventry House International-OnTESOL: the 120-hour Advanced TESOL Certificate and the 168-hour Hybrid TEFL Certificate.
  2. You will also be eligible for TESL Canada Professional Standard 1 certification on completion of a separate 20-hour Practicum, university degree, and English Language Proficiency requirements.

250-hour TESOL Diploma

Completion of this program leads to the following certifications:

  1. On successful completion of the 250-hour TESOL Diploma program, you will receive the 250-hour TESOL Diploma awarded by Coventry House International-OnTESOL.
  2. You will also be eligible for TESL Canada Professional Standard 2 certification on completion of a separate 50-hour Practicum, university degree, and English Language Proficiency requirements.

THOSE WHO WISH TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR TESL CANADA CERTIFICATION MUST SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETE THE RECOGNIZED ONLINE PROGRAM, THE SEPARATE PRACTICUM MODULE AND MEET ALL THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum age: 21
  • A completed university degree from Canada or the WES equivalency document for degrees completed outside Canada. Students who do not meet university degree requirement can still enroll in the Advanced 120-hour TESOL Certificate or the 168-hour Hybrid TEFL Certificate and receive a TEFL / TESOL certification awarded by OnTESOL upon successful completion of the online program, but they are informed that TESL Canada and TESL Ontario require an undergraduate degree from Canada or the WES equivalency document.
  • TESL Canada English Language Proficiency Requirement: Non-native speakers who did not complete a university degree in an English-speaking country must meet the following English Language Proficiency requirement before applying to TESL Canada certification:
    • IELTS Academic (Overall 7 with a minimum of 7 in each skill area) OR TOEFL iBT (Overall 101 with a minimum of 23 in Listening, 24 in Reading, 27 in Speaking  and 27 in Writing).
