Get triple certification with OnTESOL! Upon successful completion of all exams, tasks, and assignments, you will receive a 250-hour TESOL Diploma awarded by Coventry House International-OnTESOL. Graduates who meet the following requirements will also be eligible for TESL Canada Professional Standard 2 and/or ACTDEC UK Level 5 certification:

TESL CANADA Professional Certificate Standard 2 Requirements

Those interested in applying for TESL Canada Professional Standard 2 certification must complete a supervised 50-hour practicum after the 250-hour TESOL Diploma.

  • Minimum age: 21
  • A university degree from Canada or its equivalency *(1)
  • Candidates must have an awareness of spoken language and competence in English, both written and spoken that enables them to follow the course.
  • Non-native speakers who have not completed a University degree in an English speaking country must have a valid English Proficiency Score such as TOEFL score of 550 (213 with computer -based exam; 80 with Internet –based exam), UCLES Certificate in Advanced English or IELTS minimum band 6.5 when applying for TESL Canada certification.
  • 50-hour practicum MUST be completed to be accredited by TESL Canada.

TESOL Diploma Entry Requirements

Applicants are not required to have any prior teaching experience or introductory TESOL certification. Candidates need to have a good general education up to the accepted level for university entrance, be proficient in the English language, and feel confident in their ability to bring a clear, analytical approach to ELT and to develop a teaching style appropriate to learners with a wide range of needs.

A 4-year university degree is required to enrol in the 250-hour TESOL program. If you do not meet this requirement, you may register in the 120-hour Advanced TESOL Certificate course.
